Laura & Sam

Our Own Events Manager's Wedding at Foxtail Barns.

Finding Love Through Dance

Me and Sam met at our local dance school and have danced together from the age of 8. From dance classes, to shows, there was always a connection between us and having the thrill of dancing thrown into this combination, our relationship just all came together so naturally.

We’ve been together for 12 years now and have travelled the world and spent the last three years renovating our home. On our ten year anniversary he took me on a trip to New York at Christmas and proposed in front of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree which was such a magical moment.

From Event Manager To Bride

As an Events Manager at Foxtail Barns, I've already been lucky enough to have coordinated so many lovely weddings here. So I already had first hand knowledge of how beautiful the venue is.

We love nature and interior design and Foxtail Barns just ticked both of these boxes for us. From the moment you step onto the grounds to the moment you walk into the venue, everywhere you look is picture perfect. Black features, natural light and gorgeous outdoor areas just meant the venue was perfect for us.

A Dream Day For a Dream Price

The freedom you get by having a bespoke menu, providing your own drinks, choosing your own suppliers just allows your day to be everything you could ever wish for at a cost you can afford. The staff at Foxtail Barns are the most friendliest and caring people you could meet, all with different personalities but the same interest in making your day amazing.

Although we live locally, the onsite accommodation allows your guests to have a second experience out of the wedding by staying in the pods. A unique stay extends the fun and having breakfast the next morning all together in the restaurant is a great way to finish off the wedding celebrations.

The Vision

Our main focus for the day was to have everyone we loved celebrating with us. Due to our love for travelling, our decorations were linked to this and we chose the colour scheme blue to represent the sea which was also in keeping with our winter / spring date.

We had a mixture of our own decorations alongside using Vintage Venue Dressing. Rachel has a gorgeous selection of decor and gave a lot of time and effort to us to make everything perfect.

I found choosing flowers one of the hardest parts of the wedding process. Knowing the names and styles of everything was certainly not something I was familiar with but Lucy from Blossoms was very helpful guiding me through the process. I wanted lots of green textures with white flowers and some elements of the blue theme which she absolutely nailed. I loved them so much that I got them all turned into resin objects that I now have around my house.

Unforgettable First Dance

Through our love of dance and music, we had live music for the ceremony and drinks reception and then singing waiters during our wedding breakfast. Our guests absolutely loved this as most of them are dancers / singers / performers. A big focus for our evening was of course our first dance so we certainly went all out with the decor of the big light up letters in the window and indoor sparklers.

The moment when we did our first dance with everyone we love around us to a song that we both loved when we first got together was just magical. Everyone coming to dance with us afterwards with so much joy is just an experience and feeling that we both shall never forget.

The Best Team

Foxtail Barns' Handpicked Suppliers List is just fantastic and filled with people who love their job and want to provide you with the best experience they can. We had Becky & Josh Duo singing throughout the ceremony and drinks reception, Undercover Artists as the singing waiters, Wedding Sounds providing the DJ and indoor sparklers for the evening, Big Wow Events for the light up letters, and That Prop Guy with their mirror. All of them bought such an amazing energy to the day and all of my guests commented on how brilliant they all were.

James is a fantastic photographer with an all round knowledge of the wedding industry. From getting married at one of the companies other venues to being a regular photographer for Foxtail couples, James has a great understanding of how a Best Day Ever wedding runs and knows the top places for the best shots. His calm natured approach allows you to enjoy your day whilst capturing the most important moments. James took on board the little details and it was just so wonderful to see what he had captured when looking through our photos. I would highly recommend James to anyone wanting a relaxed and talented photographer.
