Foxtail Barns Wedding Venue

Giving Back to the Environment

As an eco-conscious wedding venue, we’re always looking at ways to improve our sustainability and environmental impact.

Foxtail Barns wedding venue sits in the heart of a breathtaking 70-acre countryside estate. It’s our mission to protect and give back to our beautiful surroundings, while still delivering your Best Day Ever.

We thought we’d share some advice on how you can join us in our active approach towards promoting sustainable weddings.

Natural Beauty

The thoughtfully designed spaces at Foxtail Barns maximise natural light and energy efficiency. The impressive architecture and subtle greenery offer an already stunning backdrop for your special day. This cuts down on the amount of decoration and single-use items needed.

Minimalistic, natural decor perfectly complements the venue's rustic charm. Helping to reduce on excessive waste following your special day.

The Venue

Reuse and Recycle

Try to avoid single-use items. We recommend choosing décor that can be rented or borrowed from a Venue Dresser, rather than purchasing new. Or consider items that can be reused or repurposed after the wedding such as potted plants and dried arrangements.

If you’re planning a DIY sustainable wedding, why not get creative? Recycle unwanted household items and transform them into beautiful personal touches! Top tip – decorate unwanted glass jars and bottles and turn them into decorative vases!

Repurpose Your Décor

Foxtail Barns has dedicated spaces for each part of your day. Being able to host your entire day in one place saves on travel. Thus, reducing your carbon footprint.

This means you can also repurpose your wedding décor for different parts of your wedding day. End of aisle ceremony decorations such as floral sprays and arches look fabulous around the top table! You might also make use of your bridesmaid’s bouquets and incorporate them into your table centrepieces.

Repurposing your decorations will not only save you money but also reduces waste.

Save the Trees

The environmental impact can be huge for something as small as a wedding invite. A great sustainable alternative to physical invitations are ‘E Invites’. There are plenty of online platforms that can help you design the perfect one, as well as being able to manage your RSVPs.

However, we understand the sentimental value of a physical invitation. So, we’d encourage you to consider biodegradable options such as recycled paper or plantable invites using seed paper.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We are committed to our role in encouraging sustainable weddings. That’s why we have sustainability practices in place that we ask all couples, guests, and suppliers to support us with.

One of our key requests is that you only use bio-degradable confetti in designated areas of the venue. We are situated in such a vast area of natural beauty, so it’s our duty to protect it.

There are some fabulous bio-degradable confetti options such as dried petals or lavender (smells great too!).

Sustainable Weddings

Choosing a wedding venue that values its environmental impact is half the journey towards achieving a sustainable wedding.

By aligning with our ethos and incorporating these sustainable practices, you can create a wedding that’s both beautiful and gentle on the planet.
