Venue Dressing Guide
Do's and Don'ts
Foxtail Barns Wedding Venue has plenty of charm and character but we know you'll want to add some personal touches to really make it your own. Here's our brief guide to stress free venue dressing and some important do's and don'ts.
Candles - When it's a Yes!
- Tea Lights in a Glass holder or votive.
- Church Style Candles in a Hurricane Lamp wedged with sand so they won't topple.
Please supply the 8-hour burn tea lights so they stay lit throughout your celebrations. LED candles look great and are always a safer bet.
Candles - When it's a No!
- No lit flames are allowed on the Registrars Table (LED candles are fine.)
- NO real candles can be used throughout the venue if there is any pampas grass, under any circumstances, due to risk of fire.
- No lit, naked flames down the aisle or at floor level anywhere please.
- No tea lights in jam jars unless there's a handle we can move them with. (Jam jars get hot enough to blister!)
- Lit candles within centrepieces can present a hazard, if your florist is happy they're safe and secure we'll light them for you.
- Tapered/dinner candles can not be lit, unless placed in a glass holder that encloses the entire candle and flame.
Info For Florists
We adore seeing the amazing bouquets and floral designs and centrepieces created for Foxtail Barns weddings. Your florist is welcome onsite from 10am on your wedding day.
The Foxtail Barns Event Manager will be on hand to say hi and give access to the wedding venue. We've got a cold place to store any buttonholes and bridal bouquets until they're needed.
Please be aware that we do not have a suitable space onsite for flowers to be arranged, we expect finished pieces to be delivered.
Suppliers Welcome from 10am
Wedding suppliers are welcome from 10am on your wedding day. Please understand that earlier access is not possible.
Suppliers Collection Options
If you're supplying entertainment such as a Photobooth we require you to remain onsite to supervise its use and then pack away and be offsite anytime prior to 11:30pm
If you're supplying a large item such as a floral archway, moongate or flower wall; or large decorative items such as vintage bikes, pallets, wheel barrows, step ladders...please be aware that we need to move these items into storage at the end of the night. Please give the Events Team a call if you would prefer to pop back and collect the items at midnight.
If you're a florist or venue dresser who has arranged to collect your smaller items (vases, cake stands) the next day, collection is at 9.30am.

Chair Sashes & Bunting Hooks

Please remember to make/order any bunting to the correct sizes, supply detailed setup instructions and deliver any bunting or fairy lights untangled and ready to hang.
